Michelle joined the firm shortly after it was founded and became a partner in 1995. Her practice focuses on maritime and insurance law. She has a broad range of experience in both areas, successfully handling matters involving complex contract disputes (e.g., charter parties, vessel construction and repair contracts), insurance coverage, significant cargo losses, seaman and longshoreman personal injuries, vessel collisions, marine professionals E&O liability, and maritime employer wage and hour liability disputes. She is highly regarded by her clients for her keen analytical abilities and practical approach to litigation.

She has lectured at maritime and insurance continuing legal education seminars as well as various marine insurance programs. She is a member of the Maritime Law Association, Maritime Section of the King County Bar Association, Puget Sound Maritime Claims Association, Marine Insurance Association of Seattle, and the Canadian Board of Marine Underwriters Association.
