Oso Landslide Lawsuit Dismissal Affirmed by Court of Appeals

On December, 31, 2018, the Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s dismissal of the claims brought against Snohomish County for the deaths and property damage caused by the Oso Landside.  Harrigan Leyh attorneys Timothy Leyh, Randall Thomsen, and Kristin Ballinger (together with Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Joseph Genster) successfully defended the trial court orders granting the five motions for partial summary judgment they brought.  The Court’s 26-page decision, authored by retiring Judge Mary Kay Becker and joined by newly-appointed Judge Beth Andrus and longtime jurist Judge James Verellen, may be found here.  Additional information about the case is available here.
